Tataj Innovation is a consultancy that focuses on disseminating knowledge and training academics, entrepreneurs and managers in Network Intelligence (nIQ). nIQ is a network intelligence quotient and a scale which helps people measure and understand their levels of network intelligence and one’s ability to navigate a highly-interconnected world.
Tataj Innovation offers not only diagnostic tools, but also training that assists people in improving their network intelligence in order to better navigate the professional world and see measurable improvements in business.
My role at the company was that of a design researcher, UX and service designer, as well as a strategist. During my time at Tataj Innovation, I worked closely with the founder, Dr. Daria Tataj, translating her research and theory-heavy methodology into accessible and visually compelling information resources, educational materials and online courses for working professionals. I also worked on helping the company communicate their mission through the design of their online presence (websites) and informational resources published on social media.
Overview
Defining the Problem
I was tasked with translating Dr. Tataj’s PhD research into accessible informative materials that visually convey complex ideas. I was also responsible for the co-creation of the nIQ report - the main product of the company at the time. I designed the flow of information considering the reading experience of a client, as well as designed it visually using Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Creating the report required working on an finding an appropriate flow of information that would deliver knowledge about client’s network intelligence in an accessible and self-explanatory way. Creating graphics and visual diagrams became one of the main priorities in making the data accessible.
In my close collaboration with the company’s founder to develop graphics and a visual language for her methodology, iterative approach to testing and prototyping was essential.
One of my main tasks was to develop a complex diagram, that simplifies and clearly communicates the score of a client’s nIQ, a result of an online assessment.
